SNIRT Road Trip

SNIRT – A Tug Hill Adventure

This past weekend we decided to go with a little different spin.  For those not in the know, SNIRT = Snow + Dirt.   It’s put on annually by the Sno Pals Snowmobile Club located in Barnes Corners, NY a small town south and east of Watertown.  This all day poker run is an ATV / snowmobile fundraiser to benefit the club with many area pubs and restaurants participating as check points and also as a welcome oasis to whet your appetite or your whistle!

Whiskey Jack’s

It is touted to have the best homemade fries in the area, too.  We had skipped breakfast so we were hungry…

Sportsmen’s Den

You’ve heard stories about where the “dirt road ends” but up here, once the snow rolls in,  you’ll need a snowmobile to get there since it’s almost two miles past where the “plowed road ends”!

High Market Inn

Come to the Inn at night for a great dinner with huge portions.  You won’t spend much but will leave full and have new friends, too.

The Hook & Ladder

Tucked away on a mountain road, this rustic pub is a popular spot with hunters and snowmobilers alike.

Tuggers

After checking our poker hand at the Sno Pals barn (they won), we swung into Tuggers.    This is a great place with an Adirondack cabin feel and great food.

Timberview

Back to where we started, the Timberview Inn.  This Tug Hill staple offers a large dining room, good food and frequent live music.

You can read the full Road Trip story and all the great place’s we’ve visited on our Road Trip, Baby! page.
